What does a good project consist of? About enthusiastic people, wonderful places, interesting and significant good practices. We have been privileged to work with all before mentioned. We are both happy and sad that this project has come to its end. It is time to sum up the learnings and to share them with you all.

We are proud to announce a very high-level speakers and program for the CECI Final Dissemination Event in the beginning of June. The program of the final event will showcase citizen involvement in circular economy implementation in different levels. We start from the EU-level by MEP Sirpa Pietikäinen, then go to the national level with Annukka Berg from the Finnish Environment Institute. The regional level is represented by Juha Hertsi from the Regional Council of Päijät-Häme and will be concluded with Elina Ojala from the European Green Capital 2021, City of Lahti. To highlight the project learnings all partners will present one action from their regional Action Plans.

CECI – Citizen Involvement in Circular Economy Implementation project is about circular economy and citizens. During our way through the project lifetime, we have learned many ways to engage citizens to circular economy. All project partners have gathered good practices, all together 65. Good practices vary from the secondhand clothing store offering social employment opportunities to open forum for the government and local authorities to exchange experiences and knowledge. These diverse approaches have made the CECI project highly interesting to work with.

CECI and other projects can make a difference – we all have possibilities to enhance more sustainable practices in our regions, from policies to people. Many thanks to all partners and to Interreg Europe to make this project happen.

You are very welcome to join us in June 6 in Lahti or online! Have a look at the CECI Final Dissemination Event program and register. The event is organized by the Interreg Europe -project CECI in cooperation with the LAB University of Applied Sciences and the Regional Council of Päijät-Häme.
